David Spencer of Aisle Say, The Internet Magazine of Stage Review and Opinion reported to us that the four Kung Fu books were not written by someone named Howard Lee.

TV Tie-Ins : A Bibliogrpahy of American TV Tie-In Paperbacks by Kurt Peer says:
"Popular series about mystic nomad/martial arts expert Kwai Chang Caine inspired four Warner novelizations, written under the Howard Lee house name by the noted authors. The 'Howard' came from Howard Kaminsky, President of Warner Books; the 'Lee was chosen for its Oriental touch."
