- "I cannot." - Caine, when offered fish meat

'Master Po said you had found both great wisdom and great happiness.'" - Young Caine- "I do not think so." - Caine, when the obsessed photographer says people think he's crazy
- "Just to know which face is his, would give me much pleasure." - Caine
- "To know the look of him, would bring him much closer." - Caine. on wanting to know which face in the picture is the one of his brother
- "I have not yet learned what Master Po wishes me to learn."--Young Caine
- "I am called upon to make an observance to the past." - Caine, on having to fight another assassin from China
- "I plead with you." - Caine, trying to get away to save a life (one of the few times he verbally begs)
- "I will see to it. Trust me, my brother." - Caine to Native
- "I am most grateful." - Caine
- "Death has had no victory. . . Is he not still here, labor upon labor, piece by piece, beauty upon beauty? Is it but a monument or is it the man himself?" - Master Po
- "Let him deal with his own death. He has earned it." - Caine

'It is they who must return your spirit to you.'" - Caine, when the Native thinks his spirit has been stolen by the camera- "I am happy, my brother." - Caine, glad that the Native now feels whole
- "Who is to say it is not so." - Caine, when asked if he believes spirits are stolen by cameras
- This Chinese Order of The Avenging Dragon uses European, winged dragons instead of Chinese ones as its symbols.
- The KF Book*2* says the photographer dies before telling Caine which man in the picture is his brother but the photographer does identify Danny so Caine knows basically what his brother looks like before they ever meet.
